ARTISTS' STATEMENT

BC Designs was created as a joint effort by artists Kevin Burgess and Drew Coduti. Our mission is to provide, high quality handcrafted, custom metal art to suit your desires and needs. We bring together over fifteen years of combined craftsmanship in tin and metalwork techniques to create traditional New Mexican and contemporary metal art. The metal work spans the gamut from functional to sculptural. The art of BC Designs has enhanced homes, businesses, churches and interiors around the world.

BACKGROUND

Kevin Burgess is a native New Mexican whose rich heritage has heavily influenced this self -taught artist in the traditional styles and techniques of New Mexican metal work. While living in Germany and Spain and traveling throughout Europe, he absorbed many ideas from those cultures, which also expanded his artistic world. His work can go beyond the traditional and explore many facets of metal work. His sculptures have been shown at various galleries including: the Whitney Museum of Art in New York, Mariposa Gallery in Albuquerque, NM, Go Mamma Go, in Washington D.C., along with the Santa Fe Museum of Fine Art "One of a Kind" Show, the museum stores in Santa Fe, NM, as well as the prestigious Spanish Market in Santa Fe.

Drew Coduti, a native of Chicago and an inveterate traveler is a former art teacher in elementary and secondary education. His specialization for many years was pottery, but since moving to New Mexico in the 1990's has been exploring new fields including metals and stained glass. Delving into these venues has expanded his work and brought a contemporary edge to his new pieces. His work is in Mariposa Gallery in Albuquerque, NM, Go Mamma Go, in Washington, D.C., the "One of a kind" Show in the Santa Fe Museum of Fine Art and the museum stores in Santa Fe.
